A portable heater provides a quick boost of heat just when it’s needed and can be moved from room to room as required.
Frostwatchers are perfect in a garage, greenhouse or porch where you want to keep the chill off and prevent condensation. These heaters have a low output and switch on automatically when the temperature falls below 5°C.- A fan heater blows out hot air and will harm the area directly in front of it very quickly. It’s ideal for warming up the bedroom or kitchen on a chilly morning.
- A convector heater circulates warm air, so it’s the best choice for a draughty hall where there are lots of cold surfaces or for controlling condensation in an unheated conservatory.
- In living rooms, looks are as important as performance. A portable gas cabinet provides a cosy glow as well as a powerful heat within seconds of being lit.
- Where heat is required for a longer period of time, an electric oil-filled radiator or convector heater will provide a steady, even heat, although convectors are more powerful and more suitable for large rooms.
- Electricity and water can be fatal, so never use a portable heater in a bathroom.
